MealTracker ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.


  • Information We Collect and How We Use It
MealTracker is designed to respect your privacy. Most of your data is processed and stored locally on your device.
    • Meal Logs and Photos: When you log your meals, take photos, or import images from other apps (like WhatsApp or your Gallery) , these images and texts are saved securely in your device's internal storage and local database (Room). We do not upload your photos or meal logs to any external servers.
    • AI Food Scanner: When you use the automatic food detection feature, the app processes the photo using Google ML Kit. This image labeling process happens locally on your device. Your photos are not sent to any remote servers for AI analysis.
    • Storage Metrics: The app monitors the storage size (MB/KB) used by your logged photos solely to display your dashboard statistics and help you manage your device storage efficiently.

  • Device Permissions
To provide our core features, the app may request the following permissions:

    • Camera: To allow you to take photos of your food directly within the app.
    • Storage / Media Access: To allow you to select existing photos for meal logging or accept shared images from other apps.

  • Third-Party Services
Our app is built using standard Google Android libraries (such as Jetpack Compose and ML Kit). We do not integrate third-party ad networks, analytics trackers, or external cloud databases that harvest or monetize your personal information.

  • Data Retention and Deletion
Because all data is stored locally on your device:
    • You can delete individual photos or full meal entries at any time within the app.
    • Uninstalling the MealTracker app will automatically permanently delete all your logged data and photos from your device.

  • Children’s Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from anyone, including children. Since data stays offline on your device, we do not collect any user data remotely.

  • Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated policy inside the app or on our Play Store listing page.
